nova sonata
Long before I had even considered making a game, I always wanted to capture an idea: A space battle where all the sound effects came together to create a song. My skills are slowly but surely catching up with my ambition, I have begun building that very idea into a game.
STEAM PAGE
After completing the lengthy sign-up process, as well as digging deep and using all the graphic design skills I have for promotional art (see to the right, pretty pro, huh?) the game’s steam page is officially live.
In case I haven’t pleaded with you directly, I will add: Wishlisting the game on Steam means a lot to me and helps give the game a little bit of extra algorithm juice to help it be seen by new people outside of my little circle.
Web demo
Since I’m building this game completely solo, I’ve kept things chugging along by splitting the work up into bitesized chunks.
My first goal: Build a short, free demo players can try out right in their browser. Check! Done. All music, art, and assets lovingly massaged into existence by me, no AI.
Building the demo was a huge learning experience and required me to use just about every creative skill I had, and learn about a hundred more. I’m very proud of how it all turned out, and I’m excited to take all the lessons learned and put them towards the next chunk I’m about to bite off.
Trailer
To help promote the game, I cut together a short collection of clips to show off the vibe of the game. Feel free to give it a watch, or head over to itch to play a proof of concept of the real thing!
press
My humble game was showcased on Warpdoor as well as named Free Game of the Week by the Post Games newsletter, run by co-founder of Polygon.com Chris Plante.
In an attempt to make my day even further and inject a little life back into my withered old heart, Chris even said on Blue Sky that he thinks it’s a cool game and he adores the art style. So what more can one even say. The press has spoken.
Drop some feedback!
Hey, if you’re here and you’ve made it this far, I’d love to get your impressions on the game. Any engagement and input truly keeps me going, will truly shape the future of the game, and best of all prevents the feeling that I’m shouting into the cosmic void of the internet.
Take a quick survey or contact me, it always means a lot.
