Music

Music has always held a special place in my heart’s ears, and it always manages to find its way into my other projects—from creating music-based games, writing and scoring short films, to writing a whole damn musical. Here’s some miscellaneous music I’ve done that’s unrelated to my writing endeavors.

Quarantine Songs

Over the past couple years, a unique experience happened to me where I did not leave the house for months on end. Bad for many many reasons, but I guess good in that I channeled a lot of that through music.

  • I made a 4-song quarantine EP called Pure Circadian that attempts to sum up the experience. It was very hard to do but I did all the instruments and the sounds all by myself, for better or for worse.

    • No one cares but I care and it’s my site SO just for your information, each song uses only 1 guitar or bass line, with lots of octave effects and things to fill out the sound. So song 1 is all guitar, song 2 is all bass, I hope you can fill in the rest, I really hope that for you.

  • I also did a little Halloween song that I’m very happy about and think turned out pretty cool. You know how I am about spooky stuff like that. I like it.

  • Lots lots more in the works!! Find me on Spotify or Apple Music or Bandcamp or wherever!

Podcast Music

As a podcast superfan, my music has found its way onto a number of shows via theme songs and submissions.

Dog Songs

Musician and writer Allie Goertz assembled a group of LA musicians to write an album of songs about famous dogs. I was honored to have my song about Einstein of Back to the Future fame (angry he’s not recognized as the first time traveler) featured alongside songs from names like Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 and Jonah Ray.

Just Plain Old Songs I’ve Gone and Done

Sometimes the mood strikes me and I write songs just for fun, is that a crime? Am I being detained?

  • Automatic Writing - One of my songs was accepted to the Long Beach Music Collective’s monthly anthology.

  • Rest - Bass was my first instrument and still holds a special place in my weary old heart. I decided to write a song that was only bass, vocals, and drums. A surprising success.

  • Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy Tribute - Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost’s “Cornetto Trilogy” (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End) are personal favorites of mine, so I created a tribute song, with different sections and genres representing the different tones of the 3 films.
